A bright, sunny, comfortable room. Accents of blue and yellow, some patterns, other colors are muted. And look at that beautiful wide space over the sofa, begging for a piece of art! Here are some examples of what a homeowner might choose for this room. We selected these based on their colors as well as the spareness of their imagery, their modernity. Each would be right at home in this room.

And here is the Idea Board we developed for this. We feature the magazine page, an example of pattern that might also be found in the room- a light blue silhouette floral, and some mat and frame samples that we would choose for this.
Mat colors would stay muted, like Crescent's Cloud, Sheer Blue and Pearl. This would help the artwork stand out like the other accents in the room- the blue stripes, yellow checkered fabric and blue vase. We would suggest a wider mat for impact. For frames, we chose five different mouldings that would be appropriate, most with the same clean lines that are in the room. At the top, we have a wide, flat, matte white choice. Next, a matte blue flat moulding that would bring out the other blue accents in the room. We added a linen liner in white to touch on the other cottons in the room. Perhaps our customer wants to emphasize the other more more decorative aspects in the room- like the carved chair handles, or wicker chair. Our third option would do just that. It is an antiqued white, with muted tans rubbed through. This would only be suggested for a very spare image, otherwise it would be too busy. Next we are showing a very contemporary silver. It has a beveled edge and faint black lines through the silver finish. Finally, another textured moulding, Thornhill, designed by Jonathan Adler. It is a creamy white color, and has the texture of open weaved linen.
